FACTORS
Five factors worth reviewing
Each item below explains a factor lenders and bureaus commonly consider, and what a business owner can review or manage themselves.
- Credit utilisation
Credit utilisation is one of several factors that can influence your credit profile. Lenders and bureaus look at how much of your revolving limits you are using as a signal of credit use. Business owners can review card and line balances and, where suitable, reduce outstanding amounts before a statement date so a lower figure may be reported.
- Repayment history
Repayment history records whether EMIs and other dues were paid on time. Lenders treat recent overdue amounts and misses as a material risk signal. Clearing any overdue balances and keeping future instalments current is something the business can manage directly with its lenders and bank accounts.
- New loan applications and enquiries
Hard enquiries appear when you apply for credit and a lender pulls your bureau file for sanction. Several recent applications in a short period can weigh on how your profile is read. Limiting unnecessary new applications gives existing enquiries time to age on the file.
- Length of credit history
Average account age reflects how long you have held credit products. Lenders often prefer a longer, stable history over a file built only of new accounts. Keeping older cards or lines open when they are still appropriate can help preserve that history, rather than closing them solely because they are unused.
- Review your credit report for inaccurate information
Wrong defaults, duplicate accounts or a loan marked closed on the lender’s books but still outstanding on the bureau can affect how lenders read your file. If you find an inaccurate entry, raise it directly with the lender that reported it and with the credit bureau through its official dispute process.
Kredway does not file disputes on your behalf, contact bureaus for you, or remove accurate negative information from your report.
Actual impact depends on your individual credit history and each bureau's methodology.
HOW SCORING WORKS
How bureaus typically weigh factors.
Models differ by bureau. These illustrative weights show where attention often sits - not a promise of how your file is scored.
On-time EMIs and no overdue amounts. Often the heaviest single factor in bureau models.
Credit-card utilisation and how much revolving credit you already use.
The average age of your accounts. Longer histories are generally read more favourably.
Recent hard pulls from applying to many lenders at once.
A blend of secured and unsecured credit on the file.
THE PAYOFF
Your lender options depend on your business profile
Kredway compares your business information against lender eligibility criteria to identify potentially relevant lenders. Final eligibility, loan amount, rate and approval are decided solely by the RBI-registered bank or NBFC.
FAQ
Quick answers.
Will checking my score here affect it?
No. We use a soft bureau check with your consent. Soft pulls are visible only to you and do not lower your score, unlike the hard enquiry a bank runs at sanction.
How long do bureau updates usually take to show?
Utilisation changes can reflect within one billing cycle. Payment-history and enquiry updates often build over subsequent bureau cycles as lenders report.
Do you guarantee a change in my score?
No. This page is educational. Kredway does not provide credit-repair services and does not guarantee any change in your score.
